The Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham billboard on Los Angeles’ Sunset Boulevard pointed to a remastered reissue of their 1973 album Buckingham Nicks, not a Fleetwood Mac reunion. The billboard showed the album’s original artwork and the date September 19; follow-up coverage identified that date as the reissue’s release date.
What did the Sunset Boulevard billboard show?
In July 2025, a billboard on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles displayed the cover art for Buckingham Nicks alongside “September 19.” The album is the 1973 record Nicks and Buckingham made as a duo, before joining Fleetwood Mac. CBS Los Angeles reported that it was recorded at Sound City Studios in Van Nuys. CBS Los Angeles reported on the billboard on July 22, 2025.
What did September 19 mean?
Follow-up reporting identified September 19, 2025, as the date the artists announced a remastered reissue of Buckingham Nicks, with availability on streaming services and CD. The Washington Post’s July 22, 2025, report connected the date to the album’s return: ‘Buckingham Nicks,’ the missing link of the Fleetwood Mac saga, is back.
Did the billboard announce a Fleetwood Mac reunion?
No. The date and artwork prompted reunion speculation, but the reported announcement was about the duo’s album. The coverage does not establish that the billboard announced a Fleetwood Mac reunion. MusicRadar’s July 22, 2025, coverage described the billboard as a possible tease for a reissue, while the later reporting tied September 19 to the remastered album.

Why did the billboard prompt speculation?
Before the reissue was identified, the date was unexplained, and both artists had recently posted lyrics from “Frozen Love,” a song on Buckingham Nicks. CBS Los Angeles reported that Nicks posted “And if you go forward,” and Buckingham posted “I’ll meet you there.” Those are lyric fragments, not statements explaining the billboard or confirming a reunion. Their connection to the album helped fuel guesses about what the campaign meant.
What was being reissued?
The billboard promoted the return of Buckingham Nicks, the duo’s 1973 album. The announcement described by The Washington Post included a remastered reissue for streaming and CD. The reporting cited here does not establish current retail availability, details of a particular vinyl edition, or how the remaster sounds compared with the original pressing.
