What happened at his January court hearing?
On January 25, Judge Fátima Veloz conditionally released Hernández while the investigation continued, according to the Associated Press. The reported conditions were:
- A $510 deposit.
- Government counseling.
- Meetings with authorities every two months.
- Protection orders issued for both sides.
Prosecutors had sought continued detention. Prosecutor Ana Andrea Villa Camacho said, “We know perfectly well why victims do not file a complaint, why victims recant,” in explaining that position, AP reported. Her statement was an explanation of the prosecution’s request, not a judicial finding about the allegations in this case.

Was this the same arrest as the October 2023 case?
No. Hernández’s January 2024 arrest on domestic-violence charges was separate from his October 2023 arrest in a case involving music producers. The Dominican National Police said Hernández was arrested on October 15, 2023, at a hotel in Sánchez, Samaná, under arrest and search warrants. That case involved alleged offenses against producers Cristian Anthony Rojas and Nelson Alfonso Hilario García. AP separately summarized the earlier matter as an accusation that Hernández assaulted a local music producer.
The two events involved different dates, locations, and allegations. The October arrest should not be treated as part of the January domestic-violence case.

What is known about the case’s later status?
RCC Noticias reported that the Ministry of Public Prosecution appealed the initial coercive measures on February 21, 2024. The sources cited here do not establish the final judgment or later disposition of the January domestic-violence case.
In an October 29, 2024, report about a separate U.S. proceeding, AP said a U.S. judge detained Hernández for at least two weeks over alleged probation misconduct. AP also noted he had left the Dominican Republic despite a court order to remain there following his January arrest. That report does not establish how the Dominican domestic-violence case was ultimately resolved.
