What happened to Teddi Mellencamp?
Mellencamp, known for appearing on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, first spoke publicly about a melanoma diagnosis in 2022. In an Instagram caption reported by Bravo that October, she said a dermatologist had biopsied a mole and that she had not been getting her moles checked until she was 40. She also described tanning as a teenager with baby oil and iodine and not wearing sunscreen. Bravo’s report on her early diagnosis recounts that history.
After the initial diagnosis, she described further excisions and ongoing skin checks. A 2025 Bravo timeline reported her personal account that 11 melanomas and three lymph nodes had been removed; that is a reported count from her treatment history, not a general medical statistic. Yes. In February 2025, Mellencamp said she had multiple brain tumors. In March, she said the remaining brain tumors and two tumors in her lung were melanoma metastases. Good Morning America reported that she underwent emergency surgery to remove four brain tumors and received radiation and immunotherapy. Good Morning America’s March 2025 report describes the tumors and treatment.
In April 2025, she said scans showed that stage 4 tumors in her brain and lungs had shrunk or disappeared. She wrote that she expected about six more weeks of immunotherapy and that her doctors believed she could be healed if treatment stayed on course. This was an optimistic update about her response at that time, not a guarantee of an outcome or a statement of her later status. Good Morning America reported her April 24, 2025 update.

Is Teddi Mellencamp in remission?
She has not said that she is in remission. Reports in October 2025 said Mellencamp described scans showing no detectable cancer while clarifying that she was not in remission and would continue immunotherapy. In a September 9, 2026 interview, she said, “I’m not allowed to say that I’m in remission, but I’m allowed to say that I’m cancer-free for right now.” Bravo reported that she had ten months of immunotherapy remaining and that her health and energy varied from day to day. Bravo’s September 2026 update contains her latest reported wording.
“No detectable cancer” and “cancer-free for right now” are descriptions Mellencamp used in specific updates; they should not be restated as a cure or remission. Her September 2026 comments also make clear that treatment was continuing.
