This is a historical ranking, not a guide to what is trending this week. BGR published its list on December 21, 2024, using Reelgood’s ranking for the seven-day period ending December 18. Black Doves took the top spot.
How the ranking was compiled
BGR said the list was based on Reelgood’s ranking of the hottest series for the week ending December 18, 2024. In describing Reelgood’s method, BGR reported that it monitored 20 million viewing decisions each month across major streaming platforms in the United States. That figure is attributed to BGR’s account of Reelgood’s methodology; it was not independently confirmed here against a Reelgood publication. Read BGR’s original article.

The ordering is a snapshot of viewing interest during one specific week in December 2024. It does not establish what is popular now, and the services shown are the associations in BGR’s 2024 article, not a current streaming-availability check. Catalogs can change, and availability may differ by country or region.
For the same reason, this ranking cannot reliably answer where to watch any of these shows today. Check the relevant service’s current catalog in your region before subscribing or planning a watch.
