Super Bowl LX made AI visible in two different ways: some commercials promoted AI products or features, while at least one was itself made primarily with AI. Those are not interchangeable claims. The clearest examples ranged from Meta’s Oakley-branded AI glasses and Amazon’s Alexa+ to Svedka’s robot-led spot, with other ads using AI for practical help, comedy, or cultural commentary.
Which Super Bowl LX ads featured AI?
Several high-profile campaigns put AI directly in the story, but they promoted different kinds of things. The descriptions below reflect what the brands’ commercials presented, not independent tests of product performance.
Anthropic: Claude and a joke about ads in AI
Anthropic’s Claude campaign poked fun at the prospect of ads appearing in ChatGPT. Its closing line was: “Ads are coming to AI. But not to Claude.” The Associated Press reported that OpenAI CEO Sam Altman called the ads dishonest while also saying they were funny; that was his reaction, not an independently established verdict on the campaign. Meta: Oakley-branded AI glasses
Meta’s spot showed athletes and creators using Oakley-branded AI glasses to capture action and share hands-free. The reported ad description does not identify a specific model, so the campaign should not be taken as confirmation of a particular product variant. TechCrunch’s Super Bowl ad coverage.

Amazon: Alexa+
Amazon used a comedic “AI is out to get me” premise starring Chris Hemsworth to introduce Alexa+. The ad presented the assistant as able to help with smart-home management and vacation planning. Those are advertised capabilities, not performance findings. TechCrunch’s Super Bowl ad coverage.
Ring: Search Party
Ring’s Search Party feature was promoted as using AI and a community network to help find lost pets. That is the feature’s advertised purpose; the commercial’s appearance does not establish how often it succeeds or how it performs in particular situations. TechCrunch’s Super Bowl ad coverage.

Which Super Bowl LX ad was made with AI?
Svedka’s “Shake Your Bots Off”
Svedka described its 30-second “Shake Your Bots Off” spot as the first “primarily” AI-generated national Super Bowl ad, according to TechCrunch. It features the robots Fembot and Brobot. “Primarily” matters: the company said people still contributed to production, including developing the storyline, so it would be inaccurate to call the ad fully automated. TechCrunch’s Super Bowl ad coverage.
This is a different kind of AI claim from commercials for Claude, Alexa+, or AI glasses. Those ads promoted AI-enabled products or services; Svedka’s claim concerns the making of the commercial itself. The two categories can overlap in principle, but each needs evidence of its own.

How common was AI in Super Bowl LX advertising?
Fast Company, citing iSpot, reported that 15 of 66 commercials—23%—either used AI in their creation or directly advertised AI services. The count combines two distinct forms of involvement: AI as a production tool and AI as the advertised offering. It is therefore a useful estimate under that definition, not a definitive count of every ad with any AI connection. Fast Company’s report.
The broad pattern fits NBCUniversal’s description of “AI Mainstreaming.” In its 2026 Super Bowl LX recap, NBCUniversal wrote: “After last year’s arrival, AI evolved to a focus on utility, showcasing how the tech functions as a practical tool for everyday life and creative production.” That framing covers both practical uses shown in ads and AI’s role in making creative work. What did the AI rankings measure?
NBCUniversal’s recap presented two rankings from EDO analyses dated February 9, 2026. They are measures of audience response, not direct assessments of ad quality, persuasion, or sales.
- AI category: Ranked first in share of search in EDO’s Super Bowl LX Ad/Category Ranker.
- AI.com: Ranked first on the Engagement Index during the game in EDO’s Super Bowl LX Ad Ranker.
The two rankings refer to different metrics: one is category-level share of search, while the other is engagement for AI.com. Neither should be described as a purchase-conversion ranking. NBCUniversal’s Super Bowl LX recap.

AI as utility, entertainment, and commentary
The ads show why “AI commercial” can mean more than one thing. Alexa+ and Ring presented practical assistance; Meta’s glasses were shown as a hands-free way to capture and share action. Svedka turned AI production into a robot-party spectacle, while Anthropic used the prospect of chatbot advertising as a punchline. Together, these examples suggest that AI’s role in the broadcast was both functional and cultural: a tool to sell, a tool to make an ad, and a subject for jokes.
