PerthNow reported that a one-night stay for two guests at The Ritz-Carlton, Perth was listed at A$10,599 for New Year’s Eve on 31 December 2024. That is a historical listing, not a current quote or a typical annual rate. For New Year’s Eve 2026, Perth has fireworks planned at Elizabeth Quay, while the hotel lists separate dining events; neither confirms a room booking or a guaranteed fireworks view.
What the A$10,599 figure referred to
In a report published on 31 December 2024, PerthNow said a one-night stay for two guests at The Ritz-Carlton, Perth on that New Year’s Eve was priced at A$10,599. The report does not identify that listing as a particular suite, and the figure should not be treated as a current or recurring New Year’s Eve rate. PerthNow’s report also gave two separate comparisons: weekend Guest Room rates starting at A$769 per night, and A$9,974 for a mid-January Friday night in an Elizabeth Quay river-view suite.
The suite in the report was described as the hotel’s most expensive room on offer at the time. It measured 277 square metres and included an open balcony, sunset view, dining area, separate living room and marble bathroom. Those details apply to the described suite, not necessarily to the New Year’s Eve listing.
What is planned for Perth New Year’s Eve 2026
The City of Perth’s 2026–2027 Events Plan schedules the 31 December 2026 celebration at Elizabeth Quay, Barrack Square and Supreme Court Gardens. It lists a family-friendly fireworks display at 8:30pm and another at midnight. The plan describes this as the event’s third year.

The City reported that around 130,000 revellers attended in and around the CBD for the 2025 New Year’s Eve celebrations, which featured displays at 8:30pm and midnight. That is a citywide attendance estimate, not a count of hotel guests or people who had a direct view from a particular room. The City’s 1 January 2026 report includes Lord Mayor Bruce Reynolds’ description of the celebrations as “an amazing way to farewell 2025 and ring in what we all hope is a fulfilling, successful and safe 2026.”
Hotel dining events are separate from a room booking
The Ritz-Carlton, Perth lists two New Year’s Eve 2026 dining options. These are event prices, not accommodation rates; availability and event details can change.
| Event | Listed details | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Songbird | Listed for 7pm–2am, with Elizabeth Quay fireworks at 8:30pm and midnight. | From A$220 per person or A$440 per couple. |
| The Hearth | Six-course menu; the listing describes a terrace break to view the fireworks. | A$355 per person; optional wine pairing A$170 per person. |
See the hotel’s Songbird New Year’s Eve listing and Hearth New Year’s Eve listing for the current event details. A dinner price should not be compared directly with a room rate: they cover different products, and the listings do not establish that accommodation is included.
Does a Ritz-Carlton room guarantee a fireworks view?
No. Marriott describes The Ritz-Carlton, Perth as being on Elizabeth Quay, with 205 guest rooms and suites overlooking the river, skyline and urban parks. That general property description does not establish that every room faces the fireworks or has an unobstructed view. Confirm the view for the exact room category before booking rather than relying on the hotel’s location alone. Marriott’s Perth portfolio page provides the property description.
What to check before booking
Compare an accommodation booking with other room options, and assess a dining event separately. Before committing, verify:
