Starbucks’ St. Patrick’s Day green drink in 2024 was the Luck of the Matcha Crème Frappuccino, a matcha Frappuccino blended with caramel and finished with caramel toppings. It was announced as a limited-time drink that began appearing the week of March 13, 2024; its current availability has not been established.
What was in the Luck of the Matcha Crème Frappuccino?
Food & Wine’s March 13, 2024 report described it as a Matcha Crème Frappuccino with three caramel additions: caramel syrup blended into the drink, caramel sauce over the whipped cream, and a crunchy caramel-sugar topping. Starbucks framed its inspiration as “a pot o’ gold at the end of the rainbow.”
The result was a sweet, green seasonal Frappuccino. It was distinct from the Iced Lavender Cream Oatmilk Matcha, another spring drink mentioned in the same report. That beverage was matcha and oat milk served over ice with lavender cold cream foam—not the St. Patrick’s Day Frappuccino.
When was it available?
Food & Wine reported that the Luck of the Matcha Crème Frappuccino began appearing for a limited time the week of March 13, 2024. The report does not establish that it returned in later years or that it is on Starbucks’ menu now, so availability should not be assumed at any particular location.

What was the March 14 offer?
The 2024 announcement also included a buy-one-get-one offer for Starbucks Rewards members on handcrafted drinks, from noon to 6 p.m. on March 14, 2024. That promotion has expired and is not a current offer.
How can you ask for a similar drink?
After the limited-time Frappuccino left menus, Food & Wine suggested asking for caramel syrup and caramel sauce with a Matcha Crème order. This is a customization suggestion, not a complete recipe or a guarantee that a store currently has the ingredients or can make the drink. Ask the barista about availability and any additional charges before ordering.
