The series is also set to end with a six-episode fifth season. A report that season-five filming wrapped comes from TrekCore, not a new Paramount announcement.
What is the latest production update?
The clearest current update is a combination of two milestones: season four has premiered, and the fifth season will be the series’ last. Paramount announced the season-four date in April 2026 and lists July 23, 2026 as its premiere date on the official series page. Paramount+’s episode listing also shows season-four episodes starting that day.

That means season four is not an upcoming release. The latest production-specific claim in the cited coverage is that season five had wrapped filming, reported by TrekCore in December 2025. That is secondary reporting, not confirmation in a new Paramount production announcement.
What is confirmed about season five?
Paramount announced on June 12, 2025 that Strange New Worlds had been renewed for a fifth and final season of six episodes. Its renewal announcement said production would begin later that year.

The renewal statement establishes the season’s episode count and final-season status, as well as the planned production start. It does not itself confirm when filming later ended. The wrap claim comes from TrekCore’s December 2025 report.
When did season four premiere?
Season four premiered on Paramount+ on July 23, 2026, according to Paramount’s April 25, 2026 announcement.
