Spotify’s 2024 Wrapped included a personalized AI-generated audio recap: two AI hosts discussed a listener’s top songs, artists and genres. Spotify announced it on December 4, 2024, as a limited-time feature for eligible Free and Premium users in seven countries—not as a service confirmed to be available today.
What was the Spotify Wrapped AI podcast?
Spotify described the feature as an Audio Overview of an individual listener’s year in music, built with Google’s NotebookLM. Its two dynamic, generative-AI hosts discussed the listener’s top songs, artists and genres; Spotify’s feature explainer also said the conversation could explore how the listener had listened and the inspiration behind a favorite track. Spotify did not publish a separate performance statistic for the podcast or explain its model architecture.

The podcast was one part of the broader 2024 Wrapped experience, which also included personalized listening stories and playlists, artist and podcaster messages, and shareable results. Spotify said its editors and personalization technology both contributed to Wrapped. In a December 4 interview, Spotify Head of Global Music Curation and Discovery JJ Italiano said: “Over the course of the year, our editors around the world are constantly monitoring new music and cultural trends to identify important rising tracks and artists.” Read Spotify’s interview about the art and science behind Wrapped.
Who could access it, and where?
At launch, Spotify announced the AI podcast in English for eligible Free and Premium users for a limited time in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Ireland and Sweden. That was a seven-country launch, not a global availability announcement. Spotify’s 2024 launch materials do not establish whether the feature remains available in any market in 2026.

How to get Your Spotify Wrapped AI podcast
Spotify’s instructions applied to the 2024 launch. The company recommended updating the Spotify app on iOS or Android, then opening the Wrapped feed on the Home screen. It also said listeners could search for “Your Spotify Wrapped AI podcast.” A link to the Top Songs 2024 playlist was another route, but Spotify specified that this route was available only to Premium users; the podcast itself was announced for eligible Free and Premium listeners.
How sharing worked—and the privacy detail
Spotify said listeners could tap the share icon to download an audio clip to a mobile device and send it by text, or share a direct podcast link. Spotify explicitly warned that sharing creates a public link, so treat that link as accessible to others rather than as a private message. See Spotify’s AI podcast instructions.

How it differed from Spotify’s other 2024 AI features
The AI podcast was a spoken, personalized recap. Spotify’s other announced AI experiences had different purposes and eligibility conditions:

What Spotify said about Wrapped’s reach
In its 2024 retrospective, Spotify reported that the 2023 Wrapped experience reached 227 million monthly active users. That is Spotify’s reported figure for the earlier experience, not a 2024 AI-podcast usage count. The company did not provide a separate user total, measured accuracy result, listening lift or satisfaction figure for the AI podcast in the cited launch materials.
