They performed a redemption Quickstep and a separate freestyle: the Quickstep earned 29 out of 30, while the gymnastics-themed freestyle earned a perfect 30. The pair finished fourth overall.
Two dances, two different jobs
ABC’s finale format gave each of the five finalist couples two performances: a judge-assigned redemption dance and a freestyle. In its November 22, 2024 announcement, ABC described the program: “The finalists will each perform a redemption dance assigned by our judges, plus an unforgettable freestyle routine.”

ABC listed the songs and dances in its finale announcement. The scores are reported by TVLine’s finale recap.
Why the pommel horse belonged in the freestyle
The pommel horse connection started before the finale. ABC News reported in September 2024 that Nedoroscik had taught Arnold pommel-horse moves before the season began. When Arnold completed one, Nedoroscik told her, “That was insane. You killed that.” The apparatus was therefore part of the story of their partnership, not merely a prop introduced for one performance.

For the freestyle, Nedoroscik’s gymnastics teammates joined the couple, linking the routine to his life in the sport. Sporting News’ account of the finale describes the teammates’ participation and the instrumental version of Coldplay’s song. Nedoroscik had won two Olympic bronze medals in 2024: one in the team all-around and one on pommel horse.
A perfect freestyle, but fourth place overall
The 30-point freestyle was a perfect score for that dance, not the couple’s final placement. Their Quickstep scored 29 out of 30. TVLine reported a combined semifinal-and-finale total of 112 out of 120, and ABC Audio reported that Nedoroscik and Arnold placed fourth. Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson won season 33.

The results show why it matters to distinguish an individual routine’s score from the competition outcome: a perfect score in one round did not determine the final ranking on its own.
