The game Netmarble confirmed with a first gameplay trailer was Solo Leveling: ARISE, a mobile and PC action RPG based on the webtoon. Netmarble announced global pre-registration on March 19, 2024, and said the newly revealed trailer showed gameplay. ARISE later launched worldwide on Android, iOS, and PC on May 8, 2024.
What is the Solo Leveling game Netmarble announced?
It is Solo Leveling: ARISE. In its March 19, 2024 announcement, Netmarble described the game as an action RPG adaptation and opened global pre-registration for mobile and PC. The company called it the first game adaptation of the webtoon. Read Netmarble’s announcement.
Netmarble’s May 8 launch announcement named Android, iOS, and PC as the platforms on which the game launched worldwide. That makes the March announcement a historical confirmation, not news of a newly announced release. See the launch announcement.
What did the first Solo Leveling gameplay trailer show?
Netmarble said the trailer showed gameplay, but its March announcement does not provide a full transcript or enough detail to verify a scene-by-scene account. The company described the game’s planned play around Sung Jinwoo: progressing through the story, combining skills and weapons to shape combat styles, teaming up with hunters from the webtoon, and summoning an “Army of Shadows.” Those are the announcement’s descriptions of the game, not a complete inventory of what appears in the trailer.

What did Netmarble report at launch?
Netmarble’s May 8, 2024 launch-announcement headline reported over 15 million pre-registered players. This is the company’s launch-time figure; it is not an active-player count or an independently audited measure of the audience.
At launch, Netmarble CEO Young-sig Kwon said, “The fan response worldwide to Solo Leveling: ARISE has been astounding, and we are thrilled to officially launch the game to a wide audience.” This is the publisher’s characterization of the response, not an independent assessment.

Is Solo Leveling: ARISE the same game as Solo Leveling: KARMA?
No. ARISE is the game that launched worldwide in 2024. Solo Leveling: KARMA is a separate project Netmarble later described as a roguelite action RPG in development for mobile and PC.
In a November 2025 announcement about KARMA’s public hands-on demo at G-STAR, Netmarble described isometric hack-and-slash combat, weapon choices including daggers, scythes, and bows, and a Blessing build system. It also mentioned evasion, counters, summonable Shadows such as Igris and Iron, and a story set in the Dimensional Gap. These are KARMA details, not evidence about the 2024 ARISE trailer.
