Neither Andrew Garfield nor Tobey Maguire is confirmed for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Sony’s published cast list names neither actor. That does not rule out an uncredited or surprise appearance, but the available official information does not establish one.
What “Spider-Man 4” means
“Spider-Man 4” is an informal label for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which Sony identifies as the fourth film featuring Tom Holland as Spider-Man. Sony’s official U.S. film page lists Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando, and Mark Ruffalo. Garfield and Maguire are not on that published list.
Why the earlier reunion can cause confusion
Garfield and Maguire returned as their versions of Spider-Man in Spider-Man: No Way Home. A reference to their return in coverage comparing the two films is about that earlier movie, not confirmation that they appear in Brand New Day. The Associated Press review discusses their reunion in the context of No Way Home.
What is known about Brand New Day
Sony says the story takes place four years after No Way Home. The world has forgotten Peter Parker’s identity, and he is living with the consequences of that isolation while continuing to fight crime. Sony’s Japan film page describes the same four-year interval and Peter protecting New York while living alone.

The Los Angeles Times reported on a post-credits sequence involving Ned’s Spidey Tracker app that teases Spider-Man’s next appearance. Its account does not identify Garfield or Maguire as part of the scene. A teaser about what comes next is not evidence of either actor’s participation.

A cast-list omission is not conclusive proof that an actor has no uncredited, archival, or surprise appearance. The responsible answer is therefore that neither Garfield nor Maguire is confirmed, and neither appears on Sony’s published cast list—not that their absence from every possible scene is definitively established.
