A February 27, 2025, Futurism report said Elon Musk appeared set to interview with Jon Stewart on The Daily Show—if the program aired the conversation unedited. The report documented a proposed interview, not a confirmed appearance, and its headline’s claim that Musk was about to be “eviscerated” was comic prediction, not a report of what happened.
What did Musk and The Daily Show say?
In a report published February 27, 2025, Noor Al-Sibai of Futurism wrote that Musk responded to a person calling for a rebuttal by saying he “will do it if the show airs unedited.” The Daily Show account replied, “We’d be delighted!” Futurism characterized that response as the program welcoming Musk’s condition. That exchange is the basis for the headline. It indicates that an interview was being discussed, with Musk making an unedited-broadcast condition; it does not, by itself, establish that the two sides finalized a booking or that an interview was recorded.
Did Musk actually appear on the show?
The February 27 report does not establish that the interview later took place. It described the appearance as apparently forthcoming and said little more was known at the time. On the evidence in that report, the careful answer is that Musk proposed doing the interview on the stated condition and the show responded positively; whether he ultimately appeared remains unconfirmed.

Why did the headline predict Stewart would “eviscerate” Musk?
Futurism connected the proposed conversation to a preceding Monday segment in which Stewart criticized Musk over federal worker dismissals. In the segment, as quoted by Al-Sibai, Stewart suggested that closing the carried-interest loophole could save $1.3 billion a year and made a separate statement about $2 trillion going to defense contractors.
Those figures are reported statements from Stewart’s satirical segment, not independently verified budget findings in Futurism’s account. The word “eviscerated” likewise expresses the headline writer’s expectation of a sharp exchange; it is not evidence of an interview or its outcome.
