Where can you watch the earlier Shrek films?

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How big is the Shrek franchise?
The figures reported in 2026 use different scopes. NBCUniversal describes nearly $4 billion in worldwide box office across the four Shrek films and two Puss in Boots spin-offs. Licensing International gives a narrower figure of more than $2.9 billion worldwide for the four Shrek films alone. The totals are not contradictory: one includes the two spin-offs and the other does not.
Licensing International also reported that Shrek content accumulated 368 million streaming hours in 2025. The same report said the character ranked first for fanship among 18–34-year-olds across 75 tested properties; that ranking is the report’s finding, and its article does not provide the underlying study methodology. Licensing International’s October 1, 2026 report covers the franchise figures and audience claims.
