At the January 9, 2026 Astra Awards, Sharon Stone used her Timeless Award speech to describe people at her table questioning who she was and why she was sitting there. She then turned the anecdote into a message about activism, purpose and using success for more than personal recognition.
What Sharon Stone said about the chair
Stone opened the anecdote by addressing “the kids at my table” and recalling their reported question: “Who are you and why are you sitting here?” She also said: “And to the kids at my table who wondered, ‘Who the f*** took that chair?’ Now you know.” The lines are excerpts quoted in entertainment coverage, not a verified complete transcript.
The people at the table have not been identified in the cited reports. The account of the exchange is Stone’s recollection in her speech; the coverage does not independently establish who asked the questions or provide their perspective.
Why she connected the moment to activism
Stone used the incident to urge younger attendees to put fame and success to purposeful use, including through activism. One reported line captured her point: “Because fame without awareness, success without purpose is pointless.” In context, the chair story served as a lead-in to a broader appeal about what people do with influence.

ZAYHENYOO Medal Display Case, Military Medal Display Frame with Real Glass
- REAL GLASS FRONT – Premium Clarity That Lasts Unlike most medal display frames on Amazon that use cheap acrylic or plastic, which scratch easily and become cloudy over time, this shadow box features a genuine glass front. Glass delivers superior optical clarity, letting every detail of your medals—engravings, ribbon textures, and metal finishes—shine through with zero distortion. It won’t yellow or haze after months of sunlight exposure, and the hard surface resists everyday scratches from dusting. While acrylic competitors look good out of the box but degrade quickly, real glass maintains a museum-grade appearance year after year. Easy to clean with a soft cloth.
- 4.5CM DEEP FRAME WITH WHITE MAT – Fits More Than You Think Standard photo frames are too shallow for medals, but this 5*7 inches shadow box offers 4.5cm interior depth—enough to hold medals naturally, including Olympic-style medals with thick ribbons. The extra included white mat adds a professional, gallery-quality touch while serving as a clean backing for DIY projects.
- 3-WAY VERSATILE DISPLAY – Wall, Table, or Freestanding Most medal frames force you to choose between hanging or sitting—this medal display case gives you all three. Use the pre-installed hanging hook for secure wall mounting in an entryway or home gym. Prefer a desk display? The built-in collapsible easel stand props the frame upright on any flat surface. You can also lay it flat or orient it horizontally or vertically to match your space. Whether you are an athlete showcasing race medals, a veteran displaying service awards, or a crafter making a gift, this 3-way versatility means one frame serves every need.
- DIY CRAFT READY – Create Personalized Memorabilia Displays This is not just a medal display holder—it is a blank canvas for creativity. The removable white mat can be used as a pinning surface for mounting medals, and small memorabilia. For advanced crafters, remove the mat to access the full 4.5cm depth for layering photos, ticket stubs, pressed flowers, handwritten notes, and other flat keepsakes alongside medals. Create themed shadow boxes for marathon seasons, military service, graduations, or team gifts. The possibilities are endless—from scrapbooking to collage art. Whether you are experienced or a first-timer, this frame gives you the space and structure to turn memories into art.
- The rear panel is secured with durable hardware, and the easel stand is reinforced to support a fully loaded display without sagging. The glass front is held by strong retained, not only cheap adhesive strips. Every component—glass, mat, backing board—is selected for longevity. This is a frame you will use for years, not a disposable product that ends up in a landfill after one season.
