Slash’s stepdaughter Lucy-Bleu Knight died in Los Angeles on July 19, 2024, aged 25, her family announced. Slash later shared a personal tribute remembering her creativity, warmth and humor. The family identified Knight as the daughter of Meegan Hodges and Mark Knight and asked for privacy as they grieved.
What happened to Lucy-Bleu Knight?
The family announcement said Knight died in Los Angeles on July 19, 2024, at age 25. It described her as “an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer, and a charming, lovable, sweet soul.” The Independent reported the announcement on July 23, 2024.
Knight was the daughter of Meegan Hodges and Mark Knight, and Slash was her stepfather. The family announcement also named her sister Scarlet Knight and stepsiblings London and Cash Hudson. Us Weekly reported those family details on July 22, 2024 and gave her birth date as December 6, 1998.
What did Slash say about her?
In a later remembrance, Slash wrote that his heart was “permanently fractured” and said he would never stop missing Knight. He remembered her as “a beacon of happiness, laughter, creativity and beauty.” The Independent reported the tribute on July 30, 2024.

What is known about the cause of death?
Contemporaneous reports said the family had not disclosed a cause of death at the time. CBS News reported that status on July 24, 2024. Those reports establish what had been made public then; they do not establish whether an official disclosure has been made since. No cause should be inferred from online speculation.
The family’s request for privacy
The family asked for privacy while grieving and requested that social-media speculation be kept to a minimum. That request accompanied its announcement of Knight’s death and is especially relevant when sharing claims about circumstances the family did not publicly describe.
