When did Sia and Daniel Bernard marry and separate?
The legal marriage date was December 28, 2022, according to Los Angeles County Superior Court documents cited by the Los Angeles Times. The couple also held a small ceremony in Portofino, Italy, in May 2023; that ceremony date is distinct from their legal marriage date. Sia’s March 2025 filing listed March 18, 2025, as the separation date, making the marriage roughly two years and two months long through that date.

What did Sia request in the divorce filing?
The Associated Press reported that Sia filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on March 19, 2025, citing irreconcilable differences. She sought legal and physical custody of the couple’s infant child. That was her request at the time of filing, not the later-reported custody arrangement.
Who is Sia and Daniel Bernard’s child?
Their child is Somersault Wonder Bernard, reported born on March 27, 2024. The Los Angeles Times reported his name and birth date when covering the filing.

What is the reported custody and support agreement?
El País reported on April 8, 2026, citing court documents and Sia’s public statement, that the couple reached an agreement on April 6. Under the reported terms, they share legal custody, physical custody follows an agreed schedule, and Sia pays $42,500 per month in child support beginning April 1, 2026. The report also says she must maintain a $5 million life-insurance policy for the child’s benefit. El País reported that spousal support had been resolved separately in December 2025.
The primary settlement and final decree were not reviewed for this account, so these terms are attributed to El País’s reporting; the reporting does not establish here that a final divorce decree has been entered.

What did Sia say about the agreement?
El País quoted a public post Sia made on April 7, 2026: “I see my settlement has been picked up by the press. I’m a sober working mom trying to buy peace. I have primary custody of our son and since i am the only parent earning income i still have to pay California’s incredibly high child support.” Her characterization of custody and income is her own public statement; El País separately described the agreement as providing shared legal custody and a physical-custody schedule.
