At the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s 2023 induction ceremony, Sheryl Crow opened the show with Olivia Rodrigo on “If It Makes You Happy,” then performed with Stevie Nicks and Peter Frampton. Crow was the inductee; Rodrigo was a guest performer, not a member of the 2023 class.

What songs did Sheryl Crow perform?

The 38th annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony took place at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on November 3, 2023. Crow’s performance sequence brought together three songs and several collaborators:

Song Who joined Sheryl Crow
“If It Makes You Happy” Olivia Rodrigo. The Associated Press reported that they traded verses while both played guitars.
“Strong Enough” Stevie Nicks.
“Every Day Is a Winding Road” Stevie Nicks and Peter Frampton.

Pitchfork’s contemporaneous recap lists all three songs and the collaborators. The Hall’s own account describes Crow’s induction medley as “Strong Enough” and more with Nicks and Frampton. Pitchfork’s performance recap and the Hall’s Sheryl Crow page document the set.

Olivia Rodrigo was a guest performer

Rodrigo joined Crow on “If It Makes You Happy,” but she was not inducted in 2023. The Hall’s ceremony materials list Rodrigo among additional performers and guests, separate from the inductees. The Hall’s 2023 announcement distinguishes the class from the guest lineup.

Stevie Nicks and Peter Frampton joined Crow onstage

Nicks joined Crow for “Strong Enough,” and Nicks and Frampton joined them for “Every Day Is a Winding Road.” The Hall identifies Nicks as a Fleetwood Mac member and includes her comments about Crow on its Crow induction page.

Where and when was the ceremony?

The ceremony was held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on November 3, 2023. It was the 38th annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. Barclays Center’s event listing and the Hall’s press announcement identify the venue and date.

Can you watch the ceremony now?

The Hall’s 2023 press kit announced that the ceremony would be recorded live at Barclays Center, stream live on Disney+ on November 3, and be available afterward. That announcement establishes the original distribution plan, not whether the full ceremony or this performance remains in Disney+’s catalog today. Check Disney+ directly for current availability. Why Crow’s induction mattered

In the Hall’s induction materials, Nicks praised Crow as a personal songwriter, while Hall essayist Holly Gleason highlighted Crow’s ability to move across genres. Those observations help explain why the ceremony’s performance paired Crow with artists from different generations and musical backgrounds. The Hall’s Crow page includes both remarks.

For listeners looking for the studio version of the song Crow and Rodrigo performed together, the Hall connects “If It Makes You Happy” with Crow’s 1996 self-titled album. That album is distinct from any recording of the Rock Hall performance. The Hall’s discography information provides the song association.
