Shaunie O’Neal and pastor Keion Henderson married on May 28, 2022, at Aurora Anguilla Resort and Golf Club. Their destination celebration brought family, friends and music together in Anguilla; the photographs also trace three distinct looks, from Shaunie’s ceremony gown to her reception dress and brunch outfit.
Inside the wedding in Anguilla
ESSENCE reported from the wedding and its post-wedding events, describing a celebration attended by the couple’s family and friends, including their children and people associated with Basketball Wives. Bishop T.D. Jakes officiated. Yolanda Adams sang as Shaunie walked down the aisle, and the Isley Brothers made a surprise appearance at the reception.
ESSENCE also reported that Keion sang at the celebration. Together, those performances gave the day a musical thread from the ceremony through the reception.
The family moments behind the ceremony
Shaunie told PEOPLE that losing her father while planning the wedding made her decision about how to walk down the aisle difficult. Her sons Shareef, Shaqir and Myles escorted her. As she put it to PEOPLE, “Losing my dad in the midst of planning this wedding was a lot, so my sons handed me off.”

The three-part VH1 special Shaunie & Keion’s Destination, “I Do,” followed the couple, their family and friends as they prepared for the Anguilla wedding. In an interview with ESSENCE, Shaunie said they agreed to film only if the program kept its focus on love and family: “We would only do a special if it were presented without added drama and no storylines.”
