Kendra Hilty’s TikTok series about falling in love with her psychiatrist drew sharply different reactions in early August 2025. Hilty alleged that the psychiatrist knew about her feelings and continued treating her; the coverage available does not independently establish what happened in treatment or whether he violated professional standards. The distinction matters: a creator’s account, viewers’ interpretations and an official finding are three different things.

What did Kendra Hilty say happened?

In a multi-part TikTok series that began in early August 2025, Hilty described a treatment relationship lasting several years and said she fell in love with her psychiatrist. The Daily Dot reported that she believed he reciprocated or encouraged her feelings, and that he knowingly continued treating her. These are claims attributed to Hilty, not independently established facts about the relationship. The Daily Dot’s August 8, 2025 report summarized her account.

The title’s word “predatory” reflects the allegation and the way the story was framed; it should not be read as a verified finding about the psychiatrist. The reviewed coverage does not identify him, establish the jurisdiction or provide his response.

Why were TikTok viewers divided?

Contemporary coverage described viewers disagreeing over how to interpret the examples Hilty shared. Some reactions treated the account as evidence of predatory behavior; others questioned whether she was reading ambiguous interactions as romantic. Those are reported audience interpretations, not proof either way. Online disagreement cannot establish whether a boundary was crossed or whether professional misconduct occurred. Creative Collaboration’s August 7, 2025 coverage described the divided response.

That article reported that Hilty’s initial video had more than 1.3 million views and 31,000 likes, and that videos in the series ranged from 300,000 to 3.4 million views at the time of publication. These are dated figures reported by the outlet, not current or independently verified totals.

What role did ChatGPT play in the story?

The Daily Dot reported that Hilty used a version of ChatGPT she called Henry and said it introduced her to the concept of transference. The outlet’s coverage does not independently verify the underlying chatbot exchanges, so this should be understood as part of Hilty’s reported account—not as a clinical assessment or confirmation of what happened between her and the psychiatrist.

What is established—and what is not?

The available coverage establishes that Hilty posted a widely viewed series and that audiences reacted in sharply different ways. It does not establish the psychiatrist’s conduct, his intentions, or whether any professional standard was breached. The reviewed reports contain no official investigation, adjudication or regulator finding, and no response from the psychiatrist. They also do not provide a professional body’s assessment of this case.

Viewers’ debate about Hilty’s interpretation is not a basis for diagnosing her. The Daily Dot reported that commenters debated a psychiatric label and that Hilty rejected it; online commentary is not a diagnosis.

What did Hilty say about sharing her story?

In a response published by the Daily Dot on August 8, 2025, Hilty said: “I am proud of myself for telling my story. The amount of people reaching out to me saying they have experienced the same thing is staggering. I am grateful to give a voice to something people didn’t know how to themselves. In this process of sharing, I have healed myself.” This expresses her reasons for speaking publicly; it does not independently verify the allegations.
