At the January 11, 2026, Golden Globes, host Nikki Glaser teased Leonardo DiCaprio about a short Teen Beat questionnaire from 1991—and asked whether his favorite food was still “pasta, pasta, and more pasta.” Reporting on a resurfaced scan says pasta really was his answer. The exact magazine issue has not been established.

What Nikki Glaser said about DiCaprio

CNN’s transcript of the ceremony, published January 12, 2026, records Glaser saying: “The most in-depth interview you’ve ever given was in Teen Beat magazine in 1991. Is your favorite food still pasta, pasta, and more pasta?” Read CNN’s Golden Globes transcript.

The Los Angeles Times reported that Glaser prefaced the joke with, “Leo, I’m sorry I made that joke. It’s cheap,” then said she had tried to find other material about him before turning to the old Teen Beat interview. The Times also describes DiCaprio’s response. “Most in-depth” was Glaser’s comic setup, not a documented ranking of his interviews. Read the Los Angeles Times report.

What the 1991 questionnaire reportedly asked

Just Jared reports that the resurfaced item was a Teen Beat questionnaire and that it included questions about favorite vacation spot, colors, clothes, school subject, first ambition, record and book, as well as food. Its report says DiCaprio’s favorite-food answer was pasta. Read Just Jared’s report on the questionnaire.

That account is secondary reporting about a scan; the original magazine page is not independently available in the sources cited here. The exact issue number and publication month within 1991 have not been established, so the questionnaire cannot be pinpointed to a particular issue from this evidence.

Why the old interview became a punchline

Glaser’s joke paired DiCaprio’s comparatively private public image with the youthful, quick-answer format of a Teen Beat questionnaire. The contrast made a simple food preference sound like unusually revealing material. The pasta answer is supported by reporting on the questionnaire, while the claim that it was his “most in-depth” interview belongs to the joke.
