What did Katy Perry’s American flag bikini look like?
Entertainment Tonight described Perry’s swimsuit as a sparkly, rhinestone American flag bikini. Its top was shaped like a star, with bedazzled red-and-white stripes on one side and a blue field with white stars on the other. White rhinestone-encrusted straps crossed at her midriff and continued down toward denim shorts.
She completed the outfit with a red lip, a red polka-dot bandana and dangling crystal earrings. The report characterized the pose as Rosie the Riveter-inspired. Entertainment Tonight’s July 5, 2024, report describes the photo and its styling.
Why did Perry share the photo?
The photo was posted on Instagram on July 4, 2024, for Independence Day and to promote Perry’s upcoming single “Woman’s World.” As reported by Entertainment Tonight, her caption began, “BB UR A FIREWORK 🎆,” then said the song was coming in one week. The report gave the single’s scheduled release as July 11, 2024, and said its music video was due the following day. Those dates refer to the 2024 announcement.

Who designed the swimsuit?
The report does not name a designer, brand or seller, and it does not establish where the garment came from. It is accurate to describe the outfit as a rhinestone American flag bikini or a patriotic rhinestone swimsuit, but there is no basis here to identify a particular product as Perry’s exact item.
Is this the bikini from Katy Perry’s Super Bowl halftime show?
No. The July 2024 Instagram photo is separate from Perry’s Super Bowl XLIX halftime performance in 2015. The NFL’s official gallery dates that performance to February 1, 2015, at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, and lists Lenny Kravitz and Missy Elliott among the performers. The NFL gallery documents the earlier event; it does not identify the swimsuit in Perry’s 2024 photo.
