Blake Lively wore a Tamara Ralph fall 2023 couture look to the 2024 LACMA Art+Film Gala: a crystal-embellished chainmail mini dress beneath a tangerine silk-taffeta cape. “Naked” is a description of the revealing silhouette, not the dress’s official name.
Who designed Blake Lively’s chainmail dress?
The dress was by Tamara Ralph and came from her fall 2023 couture collection, according to Vogue’s November 3, 2024, report. It was not a Gucci design: Gucci presented the gala, but Lively’s outfit was attributed to Ralph.
What did the look include?
The chainmail mini dress
Vogue describes a chainmail mini dress embellished with rose gold, pink, and topaz crystals. Harper’s Bazaar adds that reflective chainmail pieces were joined by diamonds, with small cutouts, a low-cut back, and a short hem. Those construction details are the publication’s observations; a primary garment specification was not available.
The orange cape and accessories
Vogue calls the cape tangerine silk taffeta; Harper’s Bazaar describes it as burnt-orange taffeta, floor-length and voluminous, worn gathered around Lively’s elbows. Harper’s Bazaar also notes lilac rhinestone-embellished strappy heels, diamond hoop earrings, and diamond studs.

Why the look recalls Paco Rabanne
Harper’s Bazaar compared the silhouette to Paco Rabanne styles of the 1960s and 1970s. That is a visual comparison, not an attribution: Tamara Ralph designed this look, and the coverage does not establish a direct influence from Rabanne.
Which LACMA gala was it?
Lively wore the outfit to the 13th annual LACMA Art+Film Gala in Los Angeles on November 2, 2024. Gucci’s official event account says the gala was co-chaired by LACMA trustee Eva Chow and Leonardo DiCaprio, honored artist Simone Leigh and filmmaker Baz Luhrmann, and featured a special performance by Charli xcx. Gucci also says proceeds support LACMA’s film programming initiative and broader museum mission.
