How was the hotel-video dispute related?
A separate issue concerned Combs’s claim that the government was responsible for leaking hotel surveillance footage to CNN. RedState reported that Subramanian rejected the claim earlier that week, quoting him as saying: “As to the Intercontinental Hotel video, Combs has not carried his burden to show that the government leaked it to CNN.” The report also quotes the judge saying Combs “doesn’t point to any sound basis for this conclusion.”
That reported ruling about the alleged leak was distinct from the motion-schedule request at the status conference. It does not establish who leaked the video; the account says Combs had not shown that the government did so. RedState reproduced the judge’s wording, but the underlying court order is not established here.
