Those are allegations in Graves’s pleading, not findings by a court.
What does the complaint accuse Combs and Sherman of?
Graves’s complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, names Combs and Sherman as defendants. It alleges that they drugged and raped Graves in 2001 and recorded the assault. The complaint also alleges that the recording was shown to other people and that Graves learned about it years later. These claims have not been established as facts by a judicial finding.
The Associated Press reported that Graves was 25 at the time of the alleged assault. At a September 24, 2024 news conference with her attorney, Gloria Allred, Graves described experiencing flashbacks, nightmares and intrusive thoughts. Those descriptions were statements attributed to Graves in AP’s reporting, not independent clinical findings.
What legal framework did the filing invoke?
The complaint invokes New York City’s Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act. The Associated Press described the filing as occurring during a two-year window that allowed certain survivors to bring lawsuits over older sexual-assault claims. The filing’s reliance on that law does not establish the allegations or resolve whether the law applies to this case; those are matters for the legal process.

What is the case’s procedural status?
A secondary docket tracker lists the case as active and says a July 17, 2025 order stayed it pending resolution of two appeals in the Second Circuit. The tracker’s listed last update is July 29, 2026. This status description is based on that tracker, not an independently checked current official court docket, so it should not be read as confirmation of any later development.
