Scott Wolf’s “own Party of Five” meant the family of five he and Kelley had pictured: the couple and their three children. It also echoed Wolf’s best-known television role, Bailey Salinger on Party of Five. The phrase comes from a 2014 interview, not a current account of the couple’s marriage: Scott filed for divorce in 2025, and a September 2026 report said the proceedings were continuing.
Why Scott Wolf’s family was “their own Party of Five”
In a 2014 ABC News interview around the birth of his daughter Lucy, Wolf described having a family of five as something he and Kelley had imagined. “I think we both just envisioned this, we both just in our mind’s eye saw the five of us,” he said. The article identified their children at the time as sons Jackson and William and daughter Lucy. The phrase referred to their family, while also inviting a comparison with the television series that had made Wolf widely known. ABC News, 2014

Wolf’s connection to Party of Five
Wolf played Bailey Salinger on the ABC drama Party of Five from 1994 to 2000. The series followed five siblings after their parents’ deaths; Wolf’s character was one of the siblings. His real-life family of five therefore gave the phrase a personal, literal meaning as well as a reference to his television career. ABC News, 2014
Scott Wolf and Kelley’s relationship timeline
- 2002: They met through mutual friends on a blind date, according to the Los Angeles Times. Wolf recalled Kelley was nearly an hour late because of New York traffic.
- 2004: They married in Kelley’s hometown of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and honeymooned in Africa, the Los Angeles Times reported.
- 2014: Their family included Jackson, William and Lucy, as described in ABC News’ interview with Wolf.
- June 11, 2025: The Los Angeles Times reported that Scott filed for divorce after 21 years of marriage.
- September 16, 2026: TMZ reported that the couple said the divorce was still moving forward. They described their focus as healing, stability and co-parenting.
These dates clarify the context of the “Party of Five” remark: it described the family Wolf and Kelley had envisioned in 2014, not their present marital status. The reports do not establish a private reason for the divorce. Los Angeles Times, June 11, 2025 · TMZ, September 16, 2026

What the phrase does—and does not—say
“Their own Party of Five” is a family-of-five reference, made more resonant by Wolf’s role in the drama. It is not evidence that the couple’s real family reproduced the show’s storyline, nor should the 2014 interview be treated as a current description of their relationship. A separate AARP interview published January 7, 2025, discussed Wolf’s career, family and thoughts about a possible reboot, but its children’s ages are a dated snapshot rather than current information.
