Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost reportedly bought a prewar co-op penthouse at 1220 Park Avenue in Manhattan’s Carnegie Hill for $13 million in 2025. The roughly 6,000-square-foot home spans three floors and is described in published accounts as having five terraces and eight balconies.
What is known about the reported purchase?
Architectural Digest and 6sqft reported the $13 million sale in 2025. The property is a co-op in a prewar building at 1220 Park Avenue, in Carnegie Hill. The accounts describe it as a triplex of about 6,000 square feet. These are published reports; they do not establish that the transaction was independently verified against public records.
Architectural Digest describes the residence as having six bedrooms. 6sqft calls it a 14-room triplex. Bathroom counts differ across coverage, so there is no single count to treat as settled.
How does the price compare with the earlier listing?
Architectural Digest reported that the home was first listed in 2018 for $27.5 million and sold in 2025 for $13 million. The closing figure is $14.5 million below that initial asking price, but the comparison is between an asking price and a reported sale price—not an appraisal or proof that the buyers paid less than market value. 6sqft reports that the sellers, Craig and Deborah Cogut, reduced the asking price at least four times.

- Material: This Penthouse View Over New York Manhattan framed wall art is printed on canvas fabric with a fine, textured surface. The material feels smooth to the touch and holds the printed image clearly. It resists stretching or loosening over time, keeping the artwork flat and taut. The canvas also holds color well and resists fading.
- Size: The set includes three vertical panels, each measuring 16 inches wide by 20 inches tall. When hung side by side with a small gap between, the total width spans approximately 50 inches. This size works well above sofas, beds, or long console tables. The 4:5 aspect ratio suits standard wall spaces without looking too wide or too narrow.
- Ready to Hang: Each panel of this Penthouse View Over New York Manhattan living room wall art comes with pre‑attached hanging hooks on the back. You only need a nail or screw for each piece. The lightweight frame construction allows one person to level and hang all three panels in minutes. Minimal tools are needed. The set also stays secure on the wall without leaning forward.
- Fade‑Resistant Print: The inks used for this Penthouse View Over New York Manhattan artwork resist fading from indirect sunlight, keeping colors vivid for years. Whether your room gets morning light or afternoon glow, the image remains sharp and true. The protective coating also helps prevent dust from sticking to the surface. A soft cloth can gently wipe away any marks without damaging the print.
- Versatile Placement: This Penthouse View Over New York Manhattan wall art decor suits living rooms, bedrooms, offices, kitchens, hotels, and cafes. The modern design complements both neutral and bold wall colors. Hang it above a fireplace, behind a desk, or along a narrow hallway. The vertical orientation draws the eye upward, making ceilings feel higher. Change its location whenever you want a fresh look.
Architectural Digest lists six wood-burning fireplaces. The home is also described as having five terraces, eight balconies, and a private elevator landing—an unusually extensive combination of indoor scale and private outdoor space for an apartment.
6sqft’s account of the listing mentions two Sub-Zero refrigerators, two Viking wall ovens, and two wine refrigerators. Those are features described in the property listing, not confirmation of what remains in the home or how the new owners use it. The building is also reported to offer residents a gym and storage facilities.
