Ralph Lauren created the custom gown Gomez wore on the 2025 Oscars red carpet. Vogue, British Vogue and ELLE described it as a blush or nude-toned, off-the-shoulder design. The reported embellishment count is a detail from fashion coverage, not a separately published production record.
What made the gown sparkle?
Vogue, British Vogue and ELLE reported more than 16,000 glass droplets alongside Rosemont crystals. The wording matters: the reports identify both materials, but do not establish that every droplet was a crystal or that the figure counts every kind of embellishment.

What inspired the look?
Vogue described the gown as inspired by Sophia Loren. E! also connected the styling to Loren and quoted Gomez’s stylist, Erin Walsh, saying, “She wanted to channel that movie star magic.” The coverage supports a broad old-Hollywood inspiration, not a claim that the gown copied a particular Loren dress. Was this the same dress she wore after the Oscars?
No. The Ralph Lauren gown was Gomez’s Oscars red-carpet look. Vogue’s account also refers to her after-party appearance, but that was a distinct Armani Privé dress, not a second version of the gown described here.
