Bre gave a different account in a September 2024 interview with Cosmopolitan: she said she was trying to alert Chelsea to what she had heard and that others already knew about the scene. She also said she and Chelsea were “done,” describing herself as hurt by Chelsea’s conduct in the previous season. Those are Bre’s views, not independent confirmation of what other cast members intended or knew.
Post-season coverage by Us Weekly described criticism that Bre’s friend Amanda Lynn was brought onscreen to expose the alleged infidelity. Bre said cast members did not control what made the final edit. The competing accounts leave intent and prior knowledge in dispute.
What was the rumor about Emma?
Nicole raises a claim that Emma had a relationship with a married man. Emma denied it. Us Weekly reported that Chrishell Stause and Chelsea challenged Nicole’s account, while Mary tried to stop the rumor and later questioned Nicole’s comments.

Nicole discussed the controversy in an official Netflix Tudum interview published September 15, 2024. Her allegation should not be treated as proof of an affair, and Emma’s denial remains part of the account.

Season 8 opens with Chelsea confronting Mary over calling her the office’s biggest instigator. Their friction continues in a disagreement about Chelsea’s conduct at an open house and whether it was professional.
