The opening revealed some of her tattoos, while the midnight-blue silhouette, red lip and curled bob gave the look an old-Hollywood feel. Calling it the “sexiest” way to show the tattoos is a matter of taste; the cutout itself was a reported detail of the dress, not evidence that the gown was designed specifically to reveal them.
What Selena Gomez wore to the 2025 SAG Awards
Gomez attended the 31st SAG Awards at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles on February 23, 2025. She wore a custom Celine gown, described in coverage as navy or midnight blue. Vogue reported a pleated Bardot neckline, fitted bodice and sleek skirt with a side slit; ELLE described the dress as off-the-shoulder with a thigh-high slit.
Those descriptions emphasize different aspects of the same look: the neckline sat off the shoulders, and the skirt had a high side opening. Fashion coverage does not provide a formal Celine product specification or an exact shade code.
How the gown showed her tattoos
ABC News described a small cutout at the upper back that exposed some of Gomez’s tattoos. ELLE also noted that the back of the gown showed her tattoos. The available descriptions establish the visual effect, but not a design statement from Celine about the cutout’s intent.

Gomez paired the gown with red lipstick and matching red nails. ABC News described her bob as sleek, with its ends tucked; Allure characterized the curled bob and gown as old-Hollywood in feel. Allure identified the lip products as Rare Beauty Kind Words Matte Lipliner and Lipstick, both in Devoted.
Manicurist Tom Bachik described the nail color as “an ’80s-inspired red that’s full of vitality—bright, bold, and sexy chic,” in Allure’s February 24, 2025 coverage.
