Who designed Nina Dobrev’s engagement ring?
Vogue’s October 30, 2024 account identifies the ring as a five-carat Lorraine Schwartz design. The Associated Press independently described the diamond as five carats, with White’s publicist confirming the engagement. These reports establish the designer attribution and reported weight, but they do not identify a public model number or provide a complete gem specification.
The reporting does not establish the ring’s setting materials, a grading certificate, or a verified retail price. The ring is a celebrity piece; a similar style offered elsewhere should not be presented as the original Lorraine Schwartz ring.
What shape is the diamond?
Descriptions of the cut differ. The Knot quotes gemologist Olivia Landau describing an elongated cushion cut, while Us Weekly calls it an elongated oval. Those are attributed descriptions, not a settled specification. The reviewed reporting does not resolve the discrepancy.

How did Shaun White propose?
According to Vogue, White arranged a convincing invitation to an intimate CFDA/Vogue dinner with Anna Wintour. Dobrev accepted and arrived at The Golden Swan, where White was waiting. She recalled, “He made the invite look so legitimate.” Vogue reported that the couple celebrated with friends afterward.
White described the effort to keep the plan on track: “I was like, She’s not coming out here.” Dobrev also said, “He said all the right things.” These recollections are from Vogue’s account of the proposal.

No. On September 12, 2025, the Associated Press reported that Dobrev and White had called off their engagement and ended their five-year relationship. The AP cited a person close to the couple who spoke anonymously because of the sensitivity of the situation.
