PerthNow praised the crowd and performance while noting that omission; neither its review nor a second review explains why the song was left out.
What happened at Kings Park
Fender played Kings Park and Botanic Garden on Friday, 28 November 2025, on the People Watching tour. PerthNow identified the Perth date as the tour’s final show and awarded it four out of five stars. PerthNow’s review described the park as packed with Geordies, Brits and homesick northerners. That is the reviewer’s characterization, not a measured account of the crowd’s demographics.

Before the set, Fender told the audience, “Alright Perth, I think this might be the best crowd I’ve had in the whole of Australia,” then asked whether there were “any Aussies in the crowd”. Xpress Magazine’s separate review also described a sold-out Friday show and loud singalongs, but gave no attendance total.
Why fans noticed “Rein Me In” was missing
“Rein Me In,” Fender’s collaboration with Olivia Dean, was absent from the 16-song setlist printed by PerthNow. The review specifically raised the question of why it was skipped, but neither that account nor Xpress Magazine records an explanation from Fender. The omission is clear; its reason is not. There is no basis in these reviews to attribute it to scheduling, artistic choice or any other cause.

The duet is included on the deluxe edition of People Watching: the official Sam Fender store’s 2LP track list names “Rein Me In (with Olivia Dean)”. That album detail establishes a way to hear the collaboration, not why it was left out of this particular concert.
Sam Fender Perth setlist
PerthNow’s printed setlist begins with “Angel in Lothian” and closes with a three-song encore. It lists these 16 songs:
- “Angel in Lothian”
- “Will We Talk?”
- “Getting Started”
- “Arm’s Length”
- “Wild Long Lie”
- “The Borders”
- “Crumbling Empire”
- “People Watching”
- “Talk To You”
- “Get You Down”
- “Howdon Aldi Death Queue”
- “Spit of You”
- “Seventeen Going Under”
- “The Dying Light”
- “Something Heavy”
- “Hypersonic Missiles”
Setlist.fm’s user-contributed event record also lists a taped “Ohio” after the encore. That differs from PerthNow’s printed list, which ends with “Hypersonic Missiles,” so it should be treated as a separate event-record detail rather than part of the review’s setlist.

PerthNow described an energetic set and singled out “Seventeen Going Under” as the night’s biggest audience response, with people rising to dance and sing. The review reported that Fender’s voice held up, while noting one mix issue: at moments, the backing vocalist sat slightly ahead in the mix. PerthNow reported that the song had more than 316 million Spotify streams as of its 29 November 2025 review; that is a dated figure, not a current count.

A fan named Will, whom Fender had met outside his hotel, joined him on guitar for “The Borders,” according to PerthNow. Xpress also noted a young fan joining Fender on that song and highlighted the band’s horns and its live version of “Crumbling Empire.” Xpress additionally reports that Holly Humberstone joined Fender for “Something Heavy”; PerthNow’s setlist includes the song but does not make that guest appearance part of its account.
PerthNow also quoted Fender reflecting on the tour’s end: “It didn’t dawn on us until about five minutes before we came out… we thought this could be a year (until we are doing concerts again),” he said. The review reported that he was returning home to work on a new album.
