Saquon Barkley told PEOPLE that he and Anna Congdon are engaged. The exclusive report was published on February 2, 2025, as Barkley and the Philadelphia Eagles were heading to New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX.
What Saquon Barkley said about the engagement
In the PEOPLE interview, Barkley spoke warmly about Congdon’s support in both football and life. A February 3, 2025, Eagles news roundup reproduced this excerpt from the interview:
“She’s been super helpful and always has my back, not only in football but throughout life there’s a lot that goes on. But as we continue to grow and mature and go through life together, we continue getting closer and continue to get even better.”
The comments described their relationship as growing closer as they matured and went through life together.

Who is Anna Congdon?
Congdon is Barkley’s fiancée, as reported in the PEOPLE exclusive. The available account focuses on Barkley’s comments about her support and does not provide further biographical details.
Why the interview mentioned Flipz
The conversation took place around Barkley’s Flipz advertising campaign. PEOPLE’s report noted that chocolate was his favorite Flipz flavor; that detail is campaign context, not part of the engagement announcement.

What is not known from the report
The February 2025 coverage does not state when or where Barkley proposed, describe a ring, or give a wedding date or plans. That absence in the report does not establish whether the couple had made private plans.
The announcement is a report of what Barkley told PEOPLE in February 2025; it should not be treated on its own as confirmation of the couple’s status in October 2026.
