Netflix said Nuremberg was available to stream on March 7, 2026, so the claim that it is “new on Netflix this week” is no longer current. Whether you can watch it now depends on your country: check the film’s Netflix listing in your region for current availability.
When did Nuremberg come to Netflix?
Netflix Tudum’s March 7, 2026 guide said “Stream it now,” establishing that the film was streaming on Netflix by that date. That does not establish its current availability in every country; Netflix’s title page indicates that its catalogue varies by location. Check your local Netflix listing rather than relying on a global release date.

What is the film about?
Nuremberg is a 2025 historical drama written and directed by James Vanderbilt. Netflix lists it as PG-13, with a runtime of 2 hours 28 minutes. It follows U.S. Army psychiatrist Douglas Kelley as he evaluates Hermann Göring after World War II and wrestles with what their encounters reveal about evil. Sony Pictures Classics describes the central relationship as a psychological duel set against the Allied effort to prosecute Nazi leaders.
Who stars in Nuremberg?
- Russell Crowe plays Hermann Göring.
- Rami Malek plays psychiatrist Douglas Kelley.
- Michael Shannon plays Robert H. Jackson.
- The cast also includes Leo Woodall, John Slattery, Mark O’Brien, Colin Hanks, Wrenn Schmidt, Lydia Peckham and Richard E. Grant.
What historical events does it depict?
The film is set around the postwar trials of Nazi leaders at Nuremberg. Netflix Tudum says 22 Nazi leaders were tried between November 1945 and October 1946, and identifies Kelley’s evaluations of prisoners as part of the story. The film is a dramatization, not a primary historical source; viewers seeking a factual account should treat its scenes as a narrative portrayal of the period, not as a substitute for historical records.

#1 Best Overall
- The Allies, led by the unyielding chief prosecutor, Robert H. Jackson (Michael Shannon), have the task of ensuring high ranking Nazi officials answer for the Holocaust in the trial of the century, while a US Army psychiatrist (Rami Malek) is locked in a dramatic psychological duel with former Reichsmarschall Hermann Gring (Russell Crowe).
Is Nuremberg based on a book?
Yes. The film is adapted from Jack El-Hai’s 2013 nonfiction book The Nazi and the Psychiatrist, which is also named as its source by Sony Pictures Classics. The book is the most direct further reading for viewers interested in Kelley and Göring; confirm the edition and current availability with your bookseller.
