Spoilers for Gachiakuta Volume 12. The official synopsis reveals that the Watchman Series logo is the symbol of Canis Surebrec, a mysterious Undertaker who shares Rudo’s surname. It raises a possible connection between the two, but does not confirm that Canis is Rudo’s ancestor or specify any other family relationship.
What is the Canis Surebrec reveal?
In its official synopsis for Gachiakuta, Volume 12, Kodansha identifies the Watchman Series logo as the symbol of Canis Surebrec, described as a mysterious Undertaker. The synopsis adds that Canis shares a last name with Rudo. That shared surname is the basis for the lineage mystery: the publisher confirms the name connection, not the precise relationship.

The same synopsis frames the Watchman Series as a potentially important clue to the relationship between the Sphere and the Ground. That makes the logo significant beyond its link to Canis, while leaving the full meaning of the symbol open.
What does the reveal confirm—and what remains unknown?
- Confirmed: Canis Surebrec is described as a mysterious Undertaker.
- Confirmed: The Watchman Series logo is identified as Canis’s symbol.
- Confirmed: Canis and Rudo share the surname Surebrec.
- Not specified in the synopsis: Whether Canis is Rudo’s ancestor, another relative, or connected to him in some different way.
- Still a clue, not an explanation: Kodansha says the Watchman Series may help illuminate the relationship between the Sphere and the Ground, but the synopsis does not explain how.
So “lineage reveal” is best understood as a family mystery being raised by the shared surname, rather than a confirmed genealogy. Any claim that Canis is Rudo’s father, grandfather, or direct ancestor goes beyond what the publisher’s summary establishes.
