Roxy Jacenko’s son Hunter Curtis celebrated his ninth birthday aboard the Ghost II superyacht on Sydney Harbour in May 2023. Contemporary coverage put the Hawaiian-themed party’s cost at about $50,000, though no itemized bill or audited total was published.
What was Hunter’s ninth-birthday party?
Reports published on 9 May 2023 said the celebration took place over the preceding weekend. So Dramatic! specified 6 May. The party was aboard the Ghost II on Sydney Harbour, with a Hawaiian theme. PerthNow’s account described the yacht as 122 feet long and reported a charter rate of $2,800 per hour; those are figures in its coverage, not independently verified specifications or a complete accounting of the event.
Why was the party Hawaiian-themed?
According to Jacenko’s explanation quoted by PerthNow, Hunter looked through old family photographs from a trip to Hawaii and chose the theme. She said he had missed celebrating with friends for his previous three birthdays because of COVID. The theme was therefore reported as Hunter’s choice, inspired by the family photos.
What did the party include?
PerthNow described a broad mix of tropical décor, activities and treats. Its report said the yacht carried more than 20 nine-year-olds, while another contemporary account gave differing guest details; coverage does not establish a single definitive attendance count.
