Cross Canadian Ragweed’s April 13, 2025, return to Boone Pickens Stadium was the culmination of a four-day Stillwater celebration—and a reunion 16 years in the making, according to Oklahoma State Athletics. The documented setlist mixed the band’s catalog with covers and guest appearances, while the scale of the event underscored how closely the group remains tied to Oklahoma’s Red Dirt scene. The available record supports a review of the show’s significance and song choices, but not claims about its sound or the audience’s experience.

Why the reunion mattered

Cross Canadian Ragweed built its name playing Stillwater venues from the late 1990s through about 2009, before breaking up. Oklahoma State Athletics says the band had not headlined together for 16 years before returning for The Boys From Oklahoma event. That history made the April 13 finale more than a date on a festival calendar: it brought a band associated with local rooms back to the city at stadium scale.

The four-day event at Boone Pickens Stadium featured Cross Canadian Ragweed and Turnpike Troubadours at the top of a broader Red Dirt lineup. Oklahoma State’s retrospective also names Jason Boland and the Stragglers, The Great Divide, and Stoney LaRue among the featured acts, and notes guest performances by Dierks Bentley, Wyatt Flores, Parker McCollum, and others. The university called the event a defining moment for the school and Red Dirt music; that is the host institution’s celebratory framing, rather than an independent assessment.

What was the Cross Canadian Ragweed reunion show setlist?

The community-maintained setlist page records a 24-song April 13 performance, including an encore. It places familiar Cross Canadian Ragweed material alongside covers and guest spots, then includes “Boys from Oklahoma” among the closing songs. The list is useful documentation, though it should be read as a community-edited record rather than an independently verified account of every song performed.

Part of the set Songs recorded on the setlist page
Main set “Long Way Home,” “I Believe You,” “17,” “Late Last Night,” “Don’t Need You,” “Bang My Head,” “To Find My Love,” “Constantly,” “Lonely Girl,” “Hammer Down,” “Sister,” “Soul Agent,” “Deal,” “This Time Around,” “Sick and Tired,” “42 Miles,” “On a Cloud,” “Wanna Rock and Roll,” “Boys from Oklahoma,” “Stranglehold,” “Dimebag,” and “Anywhere But Here.”
Encore “Alabama” and “Carney Man.”

The setlist page identifies covers of songs by Todd Snider, Ray Wylie Hubbard, and Ted Nugent, and records guest appearances by Graycie York, Jason Boland, Parker McCollum, Kyle Nix, Wyatt Flores, Evan Felker, and Mike McClure. Its combination of band songs, outside material, and guests gives the documented set a broader community context than a straightforward catalog run-through. The page does not establish how the songs sounded or how the concert unfolded onstage.

What the event’s scale says—and what it does not

Oklahoma State Athletics reported nearly 180,000 tickets sold during presale and said 90,000 people did not get past the ticketing queue. The university separately reported that more than 200,000 people came to Stillwater for the event and surrounding performances. These are distinct institutional figures: the presale and queue numbers are not an attendance count, and the broader Stillwater estimate includes more than the stadium show.

An Oklahoma Digital Prairie archived publication estimated roughly 50,000 fans at the April 13 finale. That is the publication’s estimate, not a reconciled or audited total. The available figures should remain attributed to their publishers rather than combined into a single attendance claim.

Why Stillwater and Red Dirt belong in the story

Red Dirt is not a narrow genre label. An archived Oklahoma publication describes it as country drawing on rock and roll, folk, bluegrass, Western swing, blues, and Outlaw Country, and notes that the style resists easy classification. It traces part of the scene’s origins to gatherings at The Farm in Stillwater and follows its growth from local bars and clubs to sold-out stadium nights.

Mca Nashville ICON [LP]

That history gives the reunion a clear local dimension: Cross Canadian Ragweed’s return connected its early Stillwater identity with a much larger event. Red Dirt Rangers founding member and guitarist Brad Piccolo described the scene as “almost like a lifestyle.” In the same archived publication, Cross Canadian Ragweed cofounder, lead guitarist, and vocalist Cody Canada said he had expected 20,000 people and “fill up half that stadium,” adding that he had “absolutely no idea it would be anywhere close to what it was.” His comments convey his surprise at the scale; they do not substitute for a firsthand review of the concert itself.

Was the reunion worth the wait?

For a retrospective review, the strongest case is historical rather than sonic. A band that Oklahoma State says had not headlined together for 16 years returned to the city where it made its name, during a four-day event devoted to a wider Red Dirt community. The setlist record shows a blend of the group’s songs, covers, and guest appearances, with “Boys from Oklahoma” near the close. The documentation makes the significance legible, even though it cannot support a verdict on performance quality, acoustics, or crowd energy.

Oklahoma State Athletics announced a Round Two Stillwater event for April 11, 2026. That date has passed; it is part of the reunion’s subsequent timeline, not an upcoming-show notice.
