Marty York played Alan “Yeah-Yeah” McClennan in the 1993 film The Sandlot. Since then, he has continued acting and has spoken publicly about a serious car accident and the murder of his mother. A 2026 podcast listing offers a more recent first-person conversation, though the available sources do not establish his precise current occupation or confirm a newly listed screen project.
Who played Yeah-Yeah in The Sandlot?
Yeah-Yeah was Alan McClennan, one of the boys in the baseball-loving group at the center of The Sandlot. Marty York played him in the 1993 movie. The character’s nickname came from his habit of saying “Yeah-Yeah,” according to Univision’s cast retrospective.

The role became York’s best-known screen credit. The film’s enduring nostalgia brought its cast back into public view around its 25th anniversary; in a 2018 PhillyVoice interview, York and co-star Victor DiMattia discussed the anniversary and the film’s collector’s edition.
What has Marty York done since the film?
York continued to work as an actor after The Sandlot, with later television credits including Boy Meets World. In the 2018 PhillyVoice interview, he said he was doing personal-training work while also taking part in anniversary-related touring and appearances. That comment describes his work at the time; it does not establish his occupation today.

A June 11, 2026 episode listing for The Not So Little Rascals presents York in a long-form conversation about his audition, the movie, his accident, fitness, and a return to acting. The listing is useful evidence of a recent interview, but its promotional description is not independent confirmation of every topic or of a current acting project.
What has York said about his personal life?
Surviving a serious car accident
York has discussed surviving a life-changing, near-fatal car accident. Univision reported that he appeared in an NBCLX documentary in December 2021 and spoke about the crash; an Access Hollywood interview description also says he discussed it. The sources cited here do not establish further medical details, so the account is best kept to what York has publicly discussed.

His mother’s murder
In the Access Hollywood interview, York spoke about his mother’s murder and how he carries on her legacy. The interview description supports that he addressed the loss, but it does not supply enough detail to responsibly expand on the case or its circumstances.

There is evidence of a recent public conversation with York, but not enough to state a precise current job or where he lives. His 2018 personal-training remark is historical, and the 2026 podcast listing describes an interview rather than a verified employment update.

IMDb’s dynamic credits page lists a 2026 series credit. Because the available information does not include a primary production announcement or official cast page confirming that project, it should not be treated as proof that the series is active, released, or York’s latest confirmed work.
