No. R-Truth’s WWE career did not end with his June 1, 2025 departure announcement: WWE documented his return six days later, and its profile listed coverage involving him in September 2026. The original headline, “R-Truth’s WWE Career Is Over,” is therefore inaccurate as a current-status claim.
Did R-Truth leave WWE in 2025?
On June 1, 2025, R-Truth, whose real name is Ron Killings, publicly announced that he had been released from WWE. Pro Wrestling Dot Net reproduced his statement: “Im sorry to inform you all. I just got released from WWE.” The same contemporaneous report noted that other accounts described WWE as not renewing his contract. Because those descriptions differ, it is not established here whether the separation was a release or a contract non-renewal. Pro Wrestling Dot Net’s June 1 report has the announcement and that qualification.
When did R-Truth return to WWE?
WWE’s official results for Money in the Bank document R-Truth’s surprise return on June 7, 2025, during the tag match between Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso and John Cena and Logan Paul. He intervened against Cena. That appearance came six days after his departure announcement. WWE’s Money in the Bank 2025 results provide the official account.
WrestleTalk later reported, on May 29, 2026, that R-Truth had returned at Money in the Bank and subsequently signed a new WWE deal. That is secondary reporting; the reviewed sources do not include a contract document. WrestleTalk’s report describes the reported deal.

Is R-Truth still appearing in WWE?
When checked on October 8, 2026, WWE’s official R-Truth profile listed recent coverage, including an item tied to SmackDown on September 11, 2026. This is evidence WWE was still featuring him in programming well after the 2025 announcement. The profile retains the R-Truth identity while describing the post-Cena storyline as bringing out Ron Killings.
A WWE profile and recent programming coverage establish that WWE was featuring him; they do not, by themselves, disclose the precise terms or duration of any contract. Roster and appearance status can change, so the profile is the most direct place to check for later updates.

Has R-Truth announced his retirement?
No retirement announcement or definitive statement that his WWE career is permanently over appears in the sources reviewed. The documented return and WWE’s later profile coverage instead show that the 2025 departure announcement was not the end of his WWE appearances.
