Fofo Márquez es el nombre público de Rodolfo Márquez, un creador de contenido mexicano conocido por mostrar lujos en redes sociales. Fue detenido en abril de 2024 tras una agresión contra Edith N. en Naucalpan, Estado de México. En enero de 2025 un tribunal lo declaró culpable de feminicidio en grado de tentativa; el 1 de mayo de ese año, un tribunal de apelación confirmó la condena de 17 años y seis meses de prisión.
¿Quién es Fofo Márquez?
Rodolfo “Fofo” Márquez se hizo conocido en redes sociales por videos asociados con un estilo de vida lujoso. En 2022 también recibió atención pública después de cerrar el puente Matute Remus, en Guadalajara, y publicar un video del episodio; posteriormente ofreció disculpas, según Expansión Política.
La cobertura biográfica señala que su padre, Rodolfo Márquez, tuvo concesionarias de gasolineras y murió en noviembre de 2022. Ese dato es contexto familiar: no demuestra por sí mismo una causa de la conducta por la que Fofo Márquez fue condenado.
¿Por qué arrestaron a Fofo Márquez?
La agresión ocurrió el 22 de febrero de 2024 en el estacionamiento de una plaza comercial de Naucalpan. La cobertura periodística situó el inicio del incidente en un golpe al retrovisor de un vehículo; esa secuencia corresponde a los relatos publicados, no a una reconstrucción independiente. Una grabación del ataque circuló en redes sociales. Las crónicas describieron que la mujer fue golpeada y pateada, sin que sea necesario reproducir detalles gráficos.

La víctima es identificada en la cobertura como Edith N.; las fuentes judiciales citadas preservan su identidad. El 4 de abril de 2024 autoridades del Estado de México detuvieron a Márquez. La Fiscalía investigaba entonces el caso como feminicidio en grado de tentativa, de acuerdo con Expansión Política. Una investigación inicial no equivale a una sentencia: la declaración de culpabilidad llegó después, en sede judicial.

El 24 de enero de 2025 un tribunal declaró culpable a Márquez por feminicidio en grado de tentativa. El 29 de enero se informó que la pena era de 17 años y seis meses de prisión. El País recogió la reacción de Edith N. a la sentencia: “A mí se me hace que no era una sentencia justa, para mí eran muchos años más”.

Confirmación en apelación y reparación del daño
El 1 de mayo de 2025, el Segundo Tribunal de Alzada en Materia Penal del Poder Judicial del Estado de México confirmó la responsabilidad penal y la pena de 17 años y seis meses. Milenio informó que la resolución fijó en 36,400 pesos la reparación correspondiente al tratamiento psicológico y dejó otros conceptos para la etapa de ejecución penal. Por tanto, esa cantidad no representa necesariamente el total de la reparación del daño.
En las noticias de enero se habían publicado cifras distintas para multa y reparación. Para entender el estado posterior del fallo, la referencia clave es la resolución de apelación de mayo: confirmó la pena y precisó el monto destinado al tratamiento psicológico, mientras que otros conceptos quedaban pendientes de cuantificación.

¿Qué significa que la condena fuera por feminicidio en grado de tentativa?
La expresión describe la calificación jurídica bajo la que el tribunal lo declaró culpable: no fue solo la forma en que la Fiscalía inició la investigación, sino el delito por el que finalmente se dictó condena. La confirmación en apelación mantuvo tanto la responsabilidad penal como la pena impuesta en primera instancia.
