Mix94.5 breakfast host Kymba Cahill said an unknown man repeatedly came to the station asking to see her, prompting staff warnings, security escorts and police involvement. She recalled the experience during an on-air discussion of Netflix’s Baby Reindeer; her account was a separate recollection of an earlier incident.
What Cahill said happened at Mix94.5
In a recollection shared on air, Cahill said a man she did not know repeatedly came to the station reception area asking to see her or saying he had an appointment. Reception staff told him she did not arrange meetings with people at the station, but he continued to press to meet her, according to PerthNow’s 22 April 2024 report and a 7NEWS report published 23 April 2024.
Cahill said staff sometimes called her to say the man was waiting and would not leave, and told her not to come in yet. She recalled that management arranged for security to escort her to and from work. The security support later included following her from home and driving her home.
Police involvement, CCTV and how long it lasted
Cahill said police were involved and that she reviewed CCTV footage in the hope of recognizing the man. She estimated the episode lasted “probably two months,” then said he eventually disappeared. She expressed hope that he had gone away, while also voicing concern that he might have found somebody else.
