Yes. Rebel Wilson graduated from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws. Her studies overlapped with acting work, but the record does not establish that she deliberately kept her degree secret.
What degree did Rebel Wilson earn, and when?
UNSW identifies Wilson as a graduate of its combined Arts and Law program. The university’s 2019 account specifies that she graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws. UNSW’s 2019 account and its graduation report confirm the degree and year.
How did she combine university with acting?
Her entertainment career was already under way before she enrolled. UNSW describes her as an accomplished stage and television actor before university and recalls that she continued studying as television work came along. At a campus conversation, Wilson said she valued the degree partly because television work could be uncertain and she had worked hard to earn her place.
ELLE reported in 2013 that Wilson deferred her UNSW acceptance for a year to serve as a Rotary International youth ambassador in southern Africa. After returning to Sydney, she joined the Australian Theatre for Young People and began university while working in theatre. ELLE’s 2013 interview gives that early chronology.
UNSW’s retrospective also recalls a two-and-a-half-hour bus commute from northwest Sydney and her exam-day habit of wearing full Champion tracksuits. Those are details the university reported in 2019, rather than independently documented measurements or records.
Did she practise law after graduating?
A law degree is not the same thing as practising as a lawyer. In its 2019 account, UNSW says Wilson applied legal knowledge to entertainment-business matters, including contract negotiations, character ownership, direct contracting with networks and arbitration concerning the film rating for The Hustle. Wilson joked that the skills had saved her lawyer fees.
ELLE reported in 2013 that Wilson had never practised law at the time of that interview. That statement describes her status then; it should not be treated as a definitive account of her professional activity today.

The degree may surprise people who primarily know Wilson for acting and comedy, but the sources cited here do not show that she intentionally concealed it. What they do establish is that she earned the qualification while building an entertainment career, and later described applying legal skills in business matters. “Under the radar” is therefore a description of how the fact may be perceived, not evidence of a deliberate secret.
