“The desert is a very special place to us,” Erica told Brides. She and Matt also wanted an outdoor ceremony and a mountain backdrop; they said noise restrictions at other venues would have pushed them toward an indoor reception.
Art Deco styling with desert colors
Erica described the design as “Art Deco meets desert retro.” Brides’ account describes a palette of muted oranges, peaches, yellows, and green accents, with organic materials and layered textures. The look paired a defined Art Deco influence with colors and textures suited to the desert setting.

Some of the details carried family meaning. Erica’s bouquet included lily of the valley, her grandmother’s favorite flower. A neon sign at the photo booth used a line from a song the couple loved, and they chose music connected to family moments.
An outdoor ceremony after a windy week
In the days before the wedding, strong winds disrupted flights and threatened the couple’s outdoor plans. Conditions eased in time for the ceremony, according to Brides. Matt and Erica exchanged personal vows, and Erica’s cousin officiated.
Ray Romano’s role and the reception
Ray Romano attended and gave a father-of-the-groom speech. Matt’s twin brother was best man, and Ray and Anna joined the groom for portraits.
The reception continued the couple’s Italian-inspired approach to food. Cocktail hour featured a “His and Hers” pasta bar, followed by an Italian-influenced dinner. Guests had a heart-shaped cake and late-night pizza, then continued dancing in the venue’s barn.
