Mick Jagger and Keith Richards are tied as the wealthiest Rolling Stones members in the clearest recent comparable estimate: the 2025 Sunday Times Rich List places each at £440 million. Estimates for Ronnie Wood and the late Charlie Watts come from different sources and years, so a full-band ranking is approximate rather than a like-for-like comparison.
Rolling Stones members’ net worth estimates, ranked
The table separates the 2025 Rich List figures from older US-dollar estimates attributed to Celebrity Net Worth. They are different source series, not directly comparable valuations.

| Member | Published estimate | Source and year | What the figure represents |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mick Jagger | £440 million | The Sunday Times Rich List, 2025 | Rich List estimate; jointly tied with Keith Richards |
| Keith Richards | £440 million | The Sunday Times Rich List, 2025 | Rich List estimate; jointly tied with Mick Jagger |
| Charlie Watts | $250 million | Celebrity Net Worth estimate reported by South China Morning Post, 2022 | Estimate associated with the late musician, not a current personal balance sheet |
| Charlie Watts | $200 million | Celebrity Net Worth estimate reported by The National, 2021 | Estimate associated with the late musician; differs from the 2022 report |
| Ronnie Wood | $200 million | Celebrity Net Worth estimate reported by South China Morning Post, 2022, and The National, 2021 | Published estimate, not an audited disclosure |
The two Watts figures illustrate why the lower entries should not be treated as definitive ranks. The 2025 Rich List reporting also says Jagger’s and Richards’s fortunes each rose by £25 million from the prior year, but it still lists them equally rather than placing one above the other.
Why Jagger and Richards share the top spot
The 2025 Sunday Times Rich List reports Jagger and Richards jointly at £440 million each, placing them together at 295th. That is the strongest recent shared comparison in the cited coverage, but it remains a list estimate—not an audited statement of either musician’s assets and liabilities. The Independent’s 2025 report on the Rich List says each man’s listed fortune increased by £25 million from the previous year. The Sunday Times Rich List is the ranking source.

#1 Best Overall
- Hot Rocks 1964-1971 is the Rolling Stones' first anthology and one of their all-time best sellers
Other published estimates use dollars and give different results. The South China Morning Post reported 2022 Celebrity Net Worth estimates of $500 million each for Jagger and Richards. The National reported 2021 Celebrity Net Worth estimates of $500 million each. Those figures should not be converted or combined with the 2025 pound-denominated Rich List values as if they shared a date, exchange rate, or valuation method.
How the other best-known members compare
For Ronnie Wood, both secondary reports give a Celebrity Net Worth estimate of $200 million: South China Morning Post in 2022 and The National in 2021. These are attributed estimates, not independently verified personal wealth figures.
Rank #2
- Originally released in 2002 to commemorate their 40th anniversary as a band, Forty Licks was a huge commercial success selling over 7 million copies around the world
Charlie Watts died in 2021. The same two reports give different estimates associated with him: $250 million in the SCMP article and $200 million in The National. Because Watts is deceased, those numbers should not be described as his current personal net worth or as a verified estimate of his estate.
The four names commonly associated with the classic Stones lineup are Jagger, Richards, Watts, and Wood. The National Portrait Gallery’s group entry names those four; an Associated Press account describes the post-Watts core trio as Jagger, Richards, and Wood. Membership context does not make the different wealth estimates more comparable.

Why published rankings disagree
- Different currencies and dates: the Rich List figure is in pounds and dates to 2025; the cited Celebrity Net Worth estimates were reported in dollars in 2021 and 2022.
- Different estimate sources: the Rich List and celebrity-site estimates are not a single standardized accounting series.
- No verified full-band balance sheets: the cited coverage does not establish audited personal net worth for all four musicians.
Historical figures are another reminder not to treat estimates as fixed facts. Guinness World Records gave 2010 estimates of $313 million for Jagger and $289 million for Richards. Its record page characterized the Stones as “the richest members of any music group”; that is Guinness’s description, not an audited conclusion about their wealth today.
