WSB-TV also reported Nida’s account to police: he said he tried to take Copes’ phone, that she curled up on the ground, and that he took the phone. He said she ran outside and he followed to return it. These are accounts attributed to the people involved, not findings that establish what happened.

A February 2025 Yahoo Entertainment article summarizing In Touch reporting reproduced the charging language, which alleged that Nida “intentionally make physical contact of an insulting and provoking nature” with Copes “by pulling her by the hair and pushing her.” The language identifies the accusation in the charge; it is not a court finding. Yahoo Entertainment’s article reproduced it.
Was Nida released after the arrest?
WSB-TV reported that Nida was taken into custody that evening and released on a $3,000 bond a few hours later. Release on bond is not a determination of guilt or the final outcome of a case.
What is Phaedra Parks’ connection to the case?
Parks is relevant to the story because she and Nida were married from 2009 to 2017 while Parks was on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, according to WSB-TV. The reported incident concerned Copes, Nida’s then-wife; the report does not identify Parks as involved in the allegation.
