These are documented connections, not a definitive roster of every celebrity who supports the club.
How strong is the evidence for QPR’s celebrity fans?
The names associated with QPR do not all come with the same kind of proof. Doherty has been quoted expressing support and has been described by the club as a lifelong Rangers fan. Theroux appears in a secondary list, but no first-person statement from him about supporting QPR is established in the sources cited here.

Pete Doherty: a long-running, publicly documented QPR connection
His 2008 support for Rangers
NME reported on 7 November 2008 that Doherty voiced support for QPR before the club’s Carling Cup match against Manchester United. Asked about the game, he said: “I hope so. Let’s hope for the best, eh?” NME’s report also recounted that Doherty had said in 2005 that he had written a song for QPR and would not release it until the club won the FA Cup. That is a report of his earlier statement, not evidence that the song was subsequently released.
Memories of Loftus Road
A 1 May 2025 report by Shoot Music said Doherty appeared in QPR’s “Rangers ‘Til I Die” matchday-programme feature for the Swansea City match on 21 April 2025. According to the report, the feature covered his early memories of watching QPR at Loftus Road and the players he admired growing up. QPR’s description of Doherty
In an announcement dated 7 November 2025, QPR called Doherty a “lifelong Rangers fan” while listing him among those expected at Game4theChildren, a celebrity football match announced for 15 December 2025 at MATRADE Loftus Road. The announcement said proceeds would benefit Shelter and QPR in the Community Trust. Because it was published in advance, it establishes the club’s description and planned attendance—not whether the event ultimately took place. See QPR’s announcement.
Is Louis Theroux a QPR fan?
Louis Theroux is named among QPR’s celebrity supporters in a reproduced club-history reference entry. That supports saying he has been associated with the club in a secondary list, but it is weaker evidence than a direct statement or a club-issued description. No suitable first-person quotation from Theroux about QPR is established here, so the strength or duration of his support should not be overstated. The reproduced club-history entry also lists other well-known names, including Bill Bailey, Ian Gillan, Robert Smith, Mick Jones, Glen Matlock, Michael Gove, Alan Johnson, Martin Clunes and Alex Tudor; those mentions should likewise be treated as leads rather than a verified, complete club roster.

Why these two names are often linked
Theroux and Doherty have a separate connection: Doherty was interviewed for the series Louis Theroux Interviews. A Radio Times search result describes Theroux as surprised by the candid quality of that interview. That programme connection helps explain why their names may appear together, but it does not independently establish Theroux’s QPR allegiance. Radio Times’ listing concerns the interview, not proof of his football support.
