Phish sent Drew Carey a Vitamix blender after the comedian joked that he would put himself in a blender to see the band again. The gag followed Carey’s ecstatic reaction to Phish’s April 2024 Sphere shows in Las Vegas, which he described in spiritual terms.
What prompted Phish’s blender gift?
Carey attended Phish’s April 2024 run at the Sphere in Las Vegas. Entertainment coverage described it as reportedly his first time seeing the band. Afterward, he posted an exuberant account of the experience, including the line “I swear I just talked to God,” as attributed to his post by entertainment coverage.
Carey also joked that he would put himself in a blender in exchange for another chance to see Phish. The remark was hyperbole, not a literal statement. The band responded by mailing him a Vitamix blender with a note inviting him to enjoy the gift and return to a show, according to the same coverage.
What kind of blender did Carey receive?
Reports identify it as a Vitamix, but do not name the model. The story does not establish its price, specifications, or any endorsement by Carey; it is a playful response to his joke, not a product recommendation.
