Paul Heyman reportedly said he had “everything to do” with Becky Lynch joining The Vision, explaining that Roman Reigns choking him out forced a switch to “plan B”—“plan Becky.” The remarks were attributed to Heyman during an ESPN Fresh Take interview with Stephen A. Smith, but the original recording or transcript has not been independently verified here.
What Heyman reportedly said about Becky Lynch joining The Vision
A report by The Sportster, republished by Yardbarker, attributes the following explanation to Heyman: “All right, everything to do with it. I’ll reveal it to you right now. It came together because of me. Would you like to know why? Because Roman Reigns choked my ass out. That’s why. We had to go to plan B, which was plan Becky. You can’t leave the champ out there all by himself.” The report says he made the comments on ESPN’s Fresh Take with Stephen A. Smith. Read the Yardbarker report.
That account presents Heyman as the person behind the move, and Reigns’s attack as the reason for the change of plans. Because the interview’s primary recording or transcript is not available in the cited report, the quote and its wording should be treated as secondary reporting, not an independently confirmed transcript.
How the later WWE footage fits—and what it does not prove
WWE’s official material documents a later on-screen encounter, not the original joining decision. In a Raw highlight dated October 20, 2025, Lynch confronts Heyman after Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed turn on Seth Rollins. WWE describes the moment as “The Man comes face-to-face with Paul Heyman after Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed and The Oracle betrayed The Visionary.” Watch WWE’s Raw highlight.
