The video was also an announcement, not simply a beauty post. Anderson introduced the Mindful Beauty Award, a collaboration involving her skincare brand Sonsie and Shopify. She described it as an initiative supporting female-founded businesses in beauty and wellness, and said it would provide $100,000 in funding and support. Those details were reported in 2025; the sources available here do not establish whether the award remains open or what its application terms were. theFashionSpot’s October 28, 2025 report quotes Anderson inviting founders or people who know a founder to apply.
Why the look should be treated as one moment, not her current style
Anderson has described herself as willing to change her hair rather than committed to one signature look. In a 2025 interview with Who What Wear, she said, “I haven’t really been tied to one look. I like to change it up.” The interview discussed copper hair for an upcoming role and described her at that time as blonde and bobbed.

A later appearance makes the timeline clearer. British Vogue reported that at Vogue World Milano on September 22, 2026, Anderson wore a curled blonde bob styled in an Old Hollywood manner, with a smoky eye and pink lip color. That is a different look from the short, makeup-free style in the 2025 video. British Vogue’s report documents the later appearance.
What Anderson has said about going makeup-free
The bare-faced appearance fits a broader public approach Anderson discussed in 2025, but it should not be treated as proof that she never wears makeup or that the video itself was a formal statement about beauty standards. The Associated Press reported that she had been attending fashion shows and film premieres without makeup. Quoted by AP from her remarks to Vogue, Anderson said, “I’m not trying to be the prettiest girl in the room,” and described the choice as “freedom” and “a relief.” The AP report provides that context.

TheFashionSpot also quoted Anderson, in a separate remark attributed to Harper’s Bazaar UK, criticizing the sameness she associated with AI technology and filters and saying she wanted to challenge beauty norms. That comment helps explain how her makeup-free appearances have been framed, but it does not establish that the award video was intended as a statement on those subjects.

AP’s story included general advice from makeup artist Rebecca Robles for people choosing a bare-faced look: gentle cleansing, vitamin C serum, moisturizer with sun protection, separate broad-spectrum sunscreen and lip balm. This is expert advice reported by AP, not Anderson’s stated routine for the video or a product recommendation from her. The AP story also quoted stylist Natalie Tincher on using clothing color to complement a makeup-free look.

Who What Wear reported that Anderson uses Sonsie cleanser, serum, cream and lip balm, and included brand and product claims about Adapt Cream. Those are claims reported in the interview, not independently established results, and they do not show that a particular product created the video’s appearance.
