You can use YouTube Kids on a Windows 10 or Windows 11 computer through a web browser: open youtubekids.com and follow the parent setup prompts. Google documents browser access, not a separate Windows app or different requirements for Windows 10 and 11.
Set up YouTube Kids in a browser

Open a current version of Chrome, Firefox, or Microsoft Edge. Google lists minimum browser versions on its computer requirements page; those thresholds are not a recommendation to use an outdated browser.

Go to youtubekids.com. The setup asks the adult to enter a birth year to verify age.

Choose whether to sign in with a Google Account. If you sign in, review the privacy terms, then follow the prompts to create or select a child profile, choose a content experience, and decide whether Search should be on.

If you continue without signing in, skip the sign-in option, review and accept the privacy terms, choose a content experience, and set the Search preference.

Complete the parent feature tour to see where to find controls, block or report videos, and review viewing history. The prompts and available choices can vary with account setup, so follow the current on-screen instructions.
Choose a content setting and Search option
Google describes three age-based experiences: Preschool for ages 4 and under, Younger for ages 5–8, and Older for ages 9–12. These are content settings, not guarantees that every video will be suitable for an individual child.
You can also choose “Approve Content Yourself.” In that experience, parents select content and the child cannot search. Alternatively, Search can be turned off for a profile. Google says turning Search off clears watch and search history and resets Recommended and Watch it again content.
Parents can manage settings through the YouTube Kids interface, linked parent account settings or Family Center, and Family Link in relevant account setups. Available controls include content level, Search, history, and autoplay-related settings. If a control’s label or location has changed, use the current in-product settings.
What to know about safety and limits
YouTube Kids uses automated systems to select videos from the broader universe of YouTube content. Google says it cannot manually review every video and that no automated system is perfect. If you encounter content you consider inappropriate, you can block or report it; the service does not guarantee that every video is appropriate.

These are the minimum thresholds printed on Google’s page, whose publication date is not stated. Google also lists the countries and regions where computer access is available and says it is working to expand availability. If the site does not work where you are, check the current availability and requirements page.
Switch between child profiles

Open YouTube Kids and select the child’s profile picture.
